Growing Channel Partner Relationships Why we're different
SCG is unique because most of the telecom transport carriers, cell phone carriers, local cable companies and IP carriers are located on its property.  Typically, datacenters only have one or two carriers on-site and can't give their customers the freedom to shop for the best IP prices, or the luxury of having three or four carriers to ensure redundancy.  SCG only charges $50/month for a cross connect to any service provider enabling any customer to buy services directly from the service provider (even $50 a month for a dark fiber cross connect).  This gives the customer the ease and flexibility to change and add services without having to move their equipment. This is totally different from what a customer would experience at a carrier's data center.

SCG is different because we designed the data center to be as green as possible. This minimizes the amount of energy used to cool the energy load of the equipment within the data center. This requires more capital to build, but returns a much lower operating cost and saves energy resources.

Fifty-percent of current data centers will be obsolete by 2008 due to insufficient power and cooling capacity:
  • Blade servers
  • Supercomputers
  • Storage arrays (SAN servers)
Companies will have an increased need to select a new data center that supports higher power densities.  SCG is designed for the servers of tomorrow.  With the new blade servers, VM servers, storage arrays and the re-appearance of main frames and super computers the power needed per square foot is rising to 1,000 watts or 40kw per cabinet.  SCG does not have a power limit for a cabinet or customer area - making SCG unique in the market.

A typical problem in a data center is humidity control, which usually wastes power to control humidity.  A non-condensing cooling design was build into SCG.  The building is also constructed to withstand hurricane force winds in excess of 110 mph.

SCG Services offers "7 - 9's" of uptime (99.99999) with its power design, which is part of SCG's non-stop service offering.  As part of the power design, the data center has diverse utility power feeds and N+1 back-up generators.

These services are shared across many users, supporting the higher capital costs of a quality data center - at a lower cost than an individual user could achieve by themselves.
